JAMB has disclosed that about 92, 490 candidates have been registered so far in the ongoing UTME/DE registration. This was contained in the weekly bulletin of the board. Prospective candidates are to note that the registration deadline remains February 14th, 2023.

Out of the total number of candidates that has been registered for the exam as at January 24th, about 67,328 of them have shown interest to take the 2023 mock examination.

JAMB also announced that it has included measures to improves the sanctity of the examination. According to JAMB, examinations will no longer take place if it is delayed up to one hour after the scheduled commencement time. This equally means that any candidate that comes to the exam hall one hour after the exam has started will not be allowed to take the exam.

However, if the reason for the delay is due to technical challenge(s), the exam would be rescheduled for other available sessions. In such cases, candidates affected by the technical challenges would be informed before on when the rescheduled exam will hold before they leave the examination centre.

Part of the measures also stated that no candidates will no longer be allowed to spend less than one hour before submission during the examination. This is because the board has noticed that starting exams late or allowing candidates to leave the exam hall early in most cases affect the integrity.

The Board stated that the new advisories are to ensure a level playing field for all candidates taking the examination.
